Block Sewing Instructions

1. Pin and sew one light purple 1½” finished half square triangle (HST) and one dark purple chisel together as shown. Press seam toward the light purple triangle. Make four dark purple chisel units.

2. Pin and sew two dark purple 1½” finished HST units and one medium purple quarter square triangle (QST) together as shown. Press seams towards dark purple triangles. Make two dark purple flying geese units.

3. Pin and sew one dark purple and one light purple 1½” finished HST units and one medium purple QST together as shown. Press seams towards dark purple and light purple triangles. Make two light purple flying geese units.

4. Pin and sew one dark purple flying geese unit and one purple chisel unit together into a quarter block as shown. Press seam open. Make two dark purple flying geese quarter block units.

5. Pin and sew one light purple flying geese unit and one purple chisel unit together into a quarter block as shown. Press seam open. Make two light purple flying geese quarter block units.

6. Lay out two dark purple flying geese quarter block units and two light purple quarter block units as shown.
7. Pin and sew two quarter block units together into half blocks as shown. Press seams open. Make two half blocks.

8. Pin and sew half blocks together to complete the block. Press seam open.
