  • 1.1m of Main Fabric
  • 15cm x 15cm of Aqua Fabric
  • 10cm of Green Fabric
  • 10cm of Yellow Fabric
  • 10cm of Orange Fabric

  • 60cm x 60cm of wadding

Cutting Instructions 

All instruction will now be in inches as per quilting standards

  1. Main fabric 
    • Cut (2) 4” strips 
      • Using AQ55670 Cut (8) shape G
    • Cut (3) 3” strip
      • Using AQ55670 Cut (8) Shape C
      • Using AQ55670 Cut (4) Shape E
      • Using AQ55670 Cut (32) Shape F*
    • Cut (1) 5 ½” Strip
      • Using AQ55017 Cut (2) 2 ½” Strips
    • Cut (1) 21 ½” Strip
      • Cross cut at 15”
  2. Aqua fabric
    • Using AQ55670 Cut (1) shape A
  3. Green fabric
    • Using AQ55670 Cut (4) shape B
    • Using AQ55670 Cut (4) shape G
  4. Yellow fabric

*This shape is directional and need to be cut with right sides together.

Sewing Instructions

All seams are ¼” unless otherwise specified.

  1. Sew yellow shape C onto shape B as shown. Make four.

  2. Sew B/C unit to Shape A as shown to create a centre block.

  3. Sew two white shape G to one green shape G as shown. Sew one shape F facing right and one shape F facing left to G unit as shown. Make Four G/F units.

  4. Sew one G/F unit to the opposite sides of the centre block.

  5. Sew two white shape C to shape E as shown. Sew shape D to C/E unit as shown.

  6. Sew one C/E/D unit to opposite ends of one G/F unit. Make two.

  7. Sew the three unit rows together to complete the inner block as shown. Block should measure 11½” x 11½”.

  8. Sew one shape F facing right and one shape F facing left to one purple G to make a triangle in square (TIS) unit as shown. Make sixteen.

  9. Sew two F/G TIS units together as shown. Make 8.

  10. Sew one double TIS units to another double TIS units together. Make 4

  11. Sew one G/F TIS unit to the opposite sides of the centre block.

  12. Sew two pink shape C to shape E as shown. Sew shape D to C/E unit as shown.

  13. Sew one C/E/D unit to opposite ends of one G/F TIS unit. Make two.

  14. Sew the three unit rows together to complete the block as shown. Block should measure 17” x 17”.

                            Adding borders

                             15. Cross cut (2) 2 ½” strips to 17”. Sew to opposite sides of the block.
                             16. Cross cut (2) 2 ½” strips to 21 ½”.  Sew to top and bottom of block

                              Quilting Pillow Top

                               17. Layer the pillow top with the wadding underneath.
                               18. Pin or baste layers together.
                               19. Quilt as desired. Trim to 21 ½”x 21 ½”. Set aside.

                              Sewing Pillow Back Flaps

                               20. Take one 15” x 21 ½” rectangle and fold over edge at ¾” along the 21 ½” side and press. Fold over ¾” again and press.
                               21. Stitch the folded edge to create a clean finished edge. Repeat these steps for the other back flap. 

                                Completing Pillow

                                 22. Place one backing piece, right sides together, on top of the quilted pillow front with the raw edges aligned at the top and the stitched   edge in the middle. Place the second backing piece on top, right side down and raw edges aligning at the bottom of the quilted pillow front with stitched edge in the middle. Pin the three layers along the edge to keep from shifting.
                                 23. Sew along the outside of the edge ½” away from the raw edges, removing pins along the way.
                                 24. Clip corners and turn the pillow cover right sides out. Insert a 20” pillow insert.
