Cutting:
Cut out the following:
- 2 x Cotton cut to 63cm x 35cm
- 1 x Batting cut to 63 x 35cm
Construction:
- Spray the batting with the quilting spray and stick the wrong side of the cotton fabric onto both sides of the batting. If you have a directional fabric, take care when placing it to make sure the patterns are in the correct direction.
- Using your washable fabric marking pen, draw your quilting design onto the right/top side of your fabrics. We chose a diamond shape created with 45-degree angled lines with 5cm spacing.
- Change to your walking foot. Using your chosen top-stitching thread, with the same colour in the bobbin, and the stitch length set to 3.0 stitch over the lines you have drawn.
- Trim the edges of your fabric to make the quilted mat even and square.
- Using your bias tape, attach bias binding, mitering corners as you go.
Congratulations on finishing your Quilted Pet Blanket, now your pet can be nice and cozy.
