Hearts for babies is a beautiful initiative that we can all jump onboard!
In NICU units and special care nurseries the "heart-to-heart" program utilize soft, fabric hearts, worn by parents and then placed with their babies, to help soothe and reassure them, especially during periods of separation, and promotes bonding of parent and child through scent.
Machine Requirements
- All PFAFF machines
- Small scraps of 100% cotton fabric
- Heart template
- General Sewing Equipment
Sewing Instructions
- Print and cut out your heart template.
- Cut one pair for each heart.
- Place right sides together and sew using a 6mm seam allowance, leaving a 4cm gap to turn.
- Clip seams and turn right sides out. Press
- Sew around the edge of the heart with a 5mm seam allowance, closing the opening as you go.
- Trim your threads and give your heart a final press.
Your Heart is finished! Now repeat, what a great use of all those little scraps.
