Ahoy, Quilters! We’ve smooth sailing and safe waters ahead of us as we introduce the August Die to Try series die, so come aboard and join us!
August’s Die to Try is here and ready to help shine your creative light onto dozens of quilting and crafting projects by adding just a touch of coastal flair. The GO! Lighthouse works with any GO! cutter to cut 9 shapes that would be oh-so tedious and time consuming to cut by hand quickly and accurately. With this die by your side, you’ll soon find your head full of fun project ideas.
Lighthouses have existed since ancient times as a way to shine light on ports and harbors for safe travels. While we may not have to depend on lighthouses anymore, they symbolize coastal life and are a popular home décor theme both in coastal and land locked areas. With the GO! Lighthouse, you can create these charming and iconic shapes with ease. The assembled lighthouse will measure 3 ¼” x 8” making it perfect for a wide variety of projects.
This die is designed to cut shapes for fusible applique, which means you would iron a paper-backed fusible onto the wrong side of your fabric before cutting it out on the die. From there, you can peel off the paper and fuse the shapes onto your project, finishing the edges with a decorative stitch or a straight stitch just inside the raw edges to secure them, but the creative fun doesn’t stop there! You can cut a wide variety of materials like denim, felt, wool, leather and cork. You can also cut sticky back vinyl, craft foam and cardstock for no-sew crafting fun.
Let’s test the waters and check out the free patterns available for you to download on AccuQuilt.com using this captivating die.
