Block Sewing Instruction

1. Pin and sew one mid-blue to one medium blue 1½” finished half square triangle (HST) together as shown. Press seam toward the medium blue triangle. Make two HST units.

2. Pin and sew one mid-blue to one light blue 1½” finished HST together as shown. Press seam toward the mid-blue triangle. Make two HST units.

3. Pin and sew four HST units together as shown for block centre unit. Press seams open.

4. Pin and sew two light blue 1½” finished HST’s and one dark blue parallelogram together as shown. Press seams towards the light blue triangles. Make two combined top and bottom parallelogram units.

5. Pin and sew two light blue 1½” finished HST’s and one dark blue parallelogram together as shown. Press seams towards the light blue triangles. Make two combined top and bottom parallelogram units.

6. Pin and sew one side parallelogram unit to each side of block centre unit as shown. Press seams open

7. Pin and sew one mid blue and one medium blue 1½” finished square to ends of one top parallelogram unit. Repeat for bottom parallelogram unit. Make two combined units.
8. Pin and sew one combined unit to the top and bottom of block centre to complete block. Press seams open.
