Cutting Instructions
- Main fabrics using AQ55009-
- Cut (4) 3 ½” Half Square Triangles (HST) of each of the 10 colours.
- Lining Fabric
- Cut (1) 12 ½”x 15 ½” lining fabric.
How to use the Boxed Bag Die:
Place the fabric on the Boxed Corner portions of the die. Most of the fabric will hang off the die.
Line up the edges with the desired markings.
Carefully place the mat on top of the die, making sure not to shift the fabric.
Line up the die on the bed of the AccuQuilt machine so that any edges without fabric hanging over are flush with the die.
Run the die through the AccuQuilt machine. Adjust the fabric as needed to help it run through the machine with the die. This fabric may be rolled up next to the machine, or in the case of only 2 layers of fabric, can be loosely folded on top of the die. Repeat as needed.
Sewing Instructions
All seams are ¼” unless otherwise specified.
Making the Scrappy Wine Bottle:
- Choose 2 HST and sew, right sides together, along the long edge.

- Press seam towards the dark side.
- Repeat steps 1-2 to make 20 scrappy squares.
- Lay out the squares to make two sets of 10 as shown
- Sew all the squares in each row together. Press each row in opposite directions.
- Stitch all the rows together. Press the seams in one direction. This is one of the scrappy outside pieces.
- Repeat and make a second scrappy outside piece.

- Fold the ribbon in half. Pin the ribbon to the seam, one block down from the top, with the fold in the seam and the two ends hanging loose.
- Lay two outside scrappy pieces together right sides together, matching seams. Stitch down one side, along the bottom and back up the other side, making sure not to catch the ends of the ribbon in the seam.

- Taking the lining fabric, fold in half, lengthwise. Sew down the long side, and across the bottom leaving a 4” hole in the side for turning.
- Lay the scrappy outside piece on the boxed bag die set. Cut 1 ¾” boxed corner from the bottom two corners, using the instructions on the previous page.
- Repeat for bottom edge of lining
- Fold the boxed corners back on themselves and stitch, making sure to match seams and lock your stitches at both ends. Repeat for all four boxed corners.

14. Turn the lining right side out. Place the lining inside the scrappy outside. Line up top edges. Pin all the way around the top opening, lining up seams.
15. Stitch all the way around the top.
16. Turn the bag right-side-out through the hole in the side of the bag.
17. Topstitch around the top edge of the bag.
18. Stitch the hole in the side of the bag closed.
19. Your Champagne Chic Wine Bottle Bag is now complete!
